American Queen Steamboat Company Offers First River Cruise Loft Suites

American Queen Steamboat Company has announced the line will offer the first and only all-suite river cruise with lofts on the Mississippi River with the addition of the new American Duchess.

The first purpose-built boutique paddlewheeler will have five different suite categories, including some of the largest accommodations of all river cruises, with itineraries beginning in June 2017.

The 166-passenger cruise ship’s Owner and Loft Suites will be 550 square feet; Deluxe Suites 450 square feet; Veranda Suites will range from 240 to 330 square feet; and Interior Suites will range from 180 to 220 square feet. The unique Loft Suites will have a full bathroom, dining area, and a furnished lounge area, complete with a queen sofa-bed, desk, and private balcony on the first floor, while the loft has a semi-private bedroom, bathroom, and closet.

Available itineraries – which are open for booking – will include overnight stays in Nashville, round trips from New Orleans, and voyages to and from St. Louis and Chicago, according to Susan Young of Travel Agent Central.
