Las Vegas has built its reputation on games of chance. It’s a mecca for gamblers and a paradise for people who like a little glitz and glamor with their vacation. But what about people who don’t gamble? With all the focus on casinos, just what is a non-gambler to do?
The folks at FunJet Vacations know vacations, and they know Vegas. They also know that just because gambling isn’t your scene, there’s enough to keep you going day and night in Sin City.
So, if the roulette wheel isn’t for you, maybe one of these options will be:
Doin’ It Old School
Old school Las Vegas is the thing of legends. Head over to Fremont Street to see Vegas the way it once was. If you’re there at night marvel as the sky comes alive with a spectacular light show.
Neon is the name of the game in Las Vegas, so don’t miss out on the Neon Boneyard, a fantastic collection of some of Las Vegas’ most iconic vintage signs.
Bright lights. Big city.
A sparkling city awaits you just beyond the casino doors.
Days are a great time to get in some shopping. Head to the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian (take a gondola ride while you’re at it) or The Forum Shops at Caesars with such high-end retailers as Ferragamo, Valentino, Tory Burch, John Varvatos and David Yurman. Even if you don’t buy, the window shopping alone makes for a fun afternoon.
Come evening, head out for drinks and dinner at any one of Vegas’ hip clubs and gourmet restaurants. Be sure to stroll along The Strip and take in some of the best neon displays this side of anywhere.
It’s not Broadway, but some might argue that it’s every bit as good, if not better.
Las Vegas is known for its high-caliber entertainment, and there’s truly something to suit every interest and taste. One of Cirque du Soleil’s many long-running shows is a must and beyond that, there are magic shows with such big names as Penn & Teller and Criss Angel, musicals and headliners such as Celine Dion, Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez.
No matter which show you attend, you can bet you’ll have a great time.
Mother Nature’s calling
Just beyond the neon lights lies a stunning display in its own right, all courtesy of Mother Nature. Red Rock Canyon, which features a one-way 13-mile drive with plenty of scenic vistas, is an easy drive from the city and a perfect mini-break for those short on time.
Have the whole afternoon to explore? Park and choose a trail for an afternoon hike. No matter which trail you choose, remember to bring plenty of water. (It’s the desert. It gets hot.)
Further afield lies the Grand Canyon and to the south, the Mojave Desert. Check with your travel agent about day tours to these and other spots. Even non-gamblers know it’s a win.
