Last year, The Strip drew 300,000 people for New Year’s festivities, and Las Vegas is expecting even more people this year. To say New Year’s here is a big deal is an understatement. The entire Strip will be closed to traffic, meaning the streets will be a party themselves, but for those looking for a specific event, Travel Agent has listed some of the more unique parties happening.
Freemont Street Experience: The mall will be closed at 4:00 pm and reopened at 5:00 pm to those with tickets. The TributePalozza-themed event will have 10 hours of live music with Blue String Theory, Yellow Brick Road, Alter Ego, Voo Doo Cowboys, Green Day, and various EDM DJs.
Stratosphere’s Skyline and Stargaze Parties: From either Stratosphere’s Sky Lounge or Tower Observation Deck, guests will party the night away with some of the best vantage points in the city. Open bars (two hours for Skyline, three for Stargaze), DJs, go-go dancers, and dinner come with the price of a ticket.
High Roller: Prior to boarding, there will be a party with an open bar, appetizers, and a DJ. Aboard the High Roller, guests will have some of the best views of the Strip’s coordinated fireworks show, and access to a premium open bar and champagne toast at midnight.
Hard Rock Café: Attendees here can enjoy live bands, an open bar, appetizers, and three stories and a patio for partying. For guests looking to bypass the club scene (and DJs), Hard Rock Café will be one of the few places offering varied genres of music, and due to its vicinity to Las Vegas Boulevard, the patio gives guests a great view of the fireworks display.
New York-New York Bridge: Open container laws in Vegas let travelers drink anywhere they want, but for New Year’s, New York-New York’s Brooklyn Bridge will be the place to be for outdoor drinks. The party here starts at 8 pm with an open bar all night.
Gilley’s Saloon: Another option for those looking to skip the clubs: The cowboy-themed Gilley’s Saloon will be hosting plenty of people dressed in short shorts and flannels instead of dresses and button-downs. The party includes a three-hour open bar, BBQ food, and mechanical bull rides. A private observation deck is available for those who really want to see the fireworks; and for the rest the show will be displayed live on HDTVs.
