Some blog sites are erroneously reporting this was confirmed today, HOWEVER, this was released over a week ago.
Park Hopping will not be available at the Walt Disney World Resort Parks for the foreseeable future, most likely through the end of 2020.
Disney will be refunding the “Park Hopper Option” to valid ticket holders who had previously purchased it.
This is due to the NEW Park Reservation System coming online later next week.
The NEW Park Reservation System will require guests to make a reservation for an individual park AFTER you have purchased your ticket(s).
You WILL be able to leave and re-enter the park, but not Park Hop to another park on the same day.
This is due to the limited capacity that Walt Disney World will be running their parks at for the foreseeable future, possible through the end of 2020.
Disney’s NEW Park Reservation System will have a specific percentage of park capacity allotted each day to be split between:
A) On-Site Resort Guests,
B) Annual Passholders,
C) Individual Ticket Holders
in that order.
You also cannot make any new reservations for 2020. Disney will be working to accommodate all those with current 2020 reservations.
Once those current reservations are accommodated, Disney MAY open up the system for additional reservations if space allows.
Once you have your park tickets purchased, the tickets linked in the MDE App, and all guests (Family & Friends) linked in your MDE App, one person will be able to make the Park Reservation in the new system by going to mydisneyexperience.com on the Disney Website, NOT in the MDE App.
NOTE: All Family & Friends linked in your MDE App MUST HAVE THE SAME CATEGORY OF TICKETS TO BE RESERVED TOGETHER. i.e. All Onsite, All annual Passholders, All Individual Ticket Holders.
If you have multiple categories of tickets, you must make a Park Reservation for each group of tickets under each category due to a fixed number of reservations available for each category.
We will be posting additional information regarding the Walt Disney World Resort, the New Park Reservation System, and information regarding 2020 & 2021 reservations over the next 2 days.
