The Walt Disney World Resort is known as the vacation kingdom of the world, and the Happiest Place on Earth. Most people look at it as a great place for family vacations, however, as millions of us also know, it is a wonderful place for couples and also has its fair share of romantic activities while staying there. While just roaming the parks and enjoying the attractions together can be fun and romantic, lets take a look at some of the other activities available at the Walt Disney World Resort for couples looking to experience something a little more different or special.
Dinner for two
Disney is known as a dining experience mecca and for their vast array of dining experiences. Some adults prefer to take their time and enjoy the relaxation and the exquisite dining experiences through out their visit. Here are some of the best examples for a quite dinner for two:
- Artist Point @ Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
- Be Our Guest Restaurant @ Magic Kingdom® Park
- California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
- Le Cellier @ Epcot®
- Morimoto Asia@ Disney Springs
- Monsieur Paul @ Epcot®
- Narcoossee’s @ Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- The Boat House @ Disney Springs
- The Dining Room at Wolfgang Puck Cafe @ Downtown Disney
- Tuto Italia @ Epcot
- Victoria and Albert’s @ Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- Yachtsman Steakhouse @ Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
Horse Drawn Carriage Rides
Horse-drawn carriages travel along the gorgeous pathways of Disney’s Port Orleans-Riverside Resort for 30-minute trips up and down the Sassagoula River or through the lush pines and cypresses at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. The trip costs $45 per carriage, and can be the perfect compliment to a romantic evening dinner.
After a fun day exploring the parks, what better way to wind down than a relaxing couples massage? Senses at Disney’s Grand Floridian boasts 15 soothing treatment rooms! Another tranquil option is Senses at Disney’s Saratoga Springs—just hop, skip and a jump from Downtown Disney.
Be sure to make appointments in advance, as both spas are very popular.
From the Fireworks Cruise that ends with a spectacular view of a fireworks show to the Intimate Dining Cruise, there are a variety of specialty cruises available to make your night even more romantic. We love the IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth cruises. Couples can also take in Wishes from the Seven Seas Lagoon during Fairytale Wishes: A Fireworks Dessert Cruise. While these are definitely in the splurge category, they are sure to please!
For something a little different, why not stroll along the beach over at Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club Resorts and then head over to Disney’s BoardWalk Entertainment District. You can roam the Boardwalk just enjoying the sites, playing carnival games, or if you’re looking for a night club atmosphere, try Atlantic Dance Hall or Jellyrolls. You’ll feel like giddy teenagers again in no time!
Watch the Fireworks from Afar
Thee are a lot of locations around Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa where guests can enjoy some quiet, and watch the Magic Kingdom’s Wishes fireworks from afar, without the hustle and bustle of the crowds in the park.
Sweets for your Sweet
Flowers and chocolate always say romance, so why not say it “Disney Style”? You can have pre-configured and individually designed flower arrangements and gift sets designed by aDisney florist delivered to your room. To add even more “enchantment,” ask the Dream Maker to add on the “Romance with Rose Petals” package. The gift includes a plentiful supply of rose petals sprinkled in your resort room. You can also tickle that sweet tooth by stopping by the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop or the Ganachery in Disney Springs for the best chocolate treats and coffee drinks in the area.
And remember, while all of these things are wonderful and can make your stay more romantic, sometimes the most romantic thing can just be being at the place you love, WITH the one you love.
