Now that Hurricane Matthew has come and gone, things can begin getting back to normal at the Walt Disney World Resort. During the storm, the Resort had “Ride Out” crews in the resort hotels assisting with guests, and in the parks all night in the event of any emergency. Once the brunt of the storm had passed the crews immediately went to work in the parks. By 8:00 AM this morning, Crews were out doing assessments of any damage and cleanup needed throughout all 4 parks.
Originally Disney Announced that the parks would be opening on Saturday, October 8, 2016.
Friday afternoon, the Walt Disney World Resort announced that select stores and restaurants would be opening at Disney Springs at 5:00 PM on Friday October 7, 2017.
Here is the Official Walt Disney World Announcement Regarding Park Hours, Openings, and Closures beginning Saturday, October 8, 2016 followed by some photos taken around the resort area early this afternoon .
