4 New Things You Can Do During Disney Springs’ Latest “Grand Opening”
Submitted by Amanda Kondolojy on Saturday, July 2, 2016 04:36
Though Disney Springs has hit several big milestones over the past several months, with the Town Center district now open and several other projects finally completed, it was announced earlier this week that the shopping district is finally having a formal grand opening celebration, which unexpectedly kicked off just yesterday. Though this grand opening celebration announcement was a little unexpected, we’ve got the details on what guests who visit this shopping district in the coming weeks and months can expect.
1. Experience special entertainment, photo ops, and food offerings around the shopping district
It wouldn’t be a Disney celebration without some commemorative treats, and luckily both The Ganachery as well as Amorette’s will have some new, sweet treats on offer for the grand opening celebration. In addition, special PhotoPass photo ops will be set up around the shopping district so that guests can strike a pose to commemorate their visit to Disney Springs during this special occasion with a fun photo.
However, perhaps the most exciting part of this grand opening celebration will be a new, daily dance party happening at the shopping district. The brand new Beat the Heat DJ Party will take place every afternoon this summer around the Marketplace Fountain, and will give guests the opportunity to dance along to some familiar Disney and popular tunes for a few hours. Guests can also enjoy a variety of ice-cold, frosty beverages (with options for adults and kids) nearby for purchase during this daily event as well.
2. Grand opening discounts will be offered at select stores (for a limited time)
During the Disney Springs grand opening celebration many retail locations in the newly-opened Town Center will be offering some limited time deals for guests that stop by in the next few weeks. Here’s a rundown of the deals that are happening now at the shopping district:
Columbia Sportswear – 25% off entire store
Lucky Brand – 40% off entire store
Sperry – 50% off select items
Kipling – 25% off the entire store, with 40% off select colors
Alex and Ani – 30% off select styles
UNOde50 – 30% off select accessories and jewelry
francesca’s – buy one, get one 50% off accessories
Erwin Pearl – 10% off Maya Collection
Melissa Shoes – 40-60% off select styles when you buy 2 or more pairs
JOHNNY WAS – 20% off in-store
LACOSTE – up to 50% off select items
Johnston & Murphy – buy one, get one 50% off apparel
American Threads – buy one, get one 50% off regular priced apparel, exclusions apply
While these sales are currently happening now, it is unknown how long they will last, so make sure to ask an associate before you shop to make sure you are getting the best deal possible during this grand opening event.
3. Peruse even more newly opened shops at the Town Center district
Now that Disney is finally celebrating a “grand opening” it only makes sense that some new shops have been opened for the occasion. Guests who visit Disney Springs will now find the four following Town Center shops now open just in time for this celebration:
Sugarboo & Co.: Inside this fun new shop guests will find a variety of whimsical and fanciful goods, from uplifting art prints to charming home goods and even fun paper products.
Columbia Sportswear: This shop offers innovative apparel, footwear, accessories and equipment for both outdoor and fishing enthusiasts.
Shore: This fashionable American lifestyle brand’s newest shop includes swimwear, fitness wear and everyday comfort clothing, and also includes a line of exclusive apparel only available only at its Disney Springs location.
Superdry: A unique clothing store that features designs that fuse vintage Americana and Japanese-inspired graphics with a British style, Superdry features a number of apparel choices including outerwear, knitwear, leather goods, leisurewear, and more.
In addition to the above stores (which all opened at the shopping district this past week) Disney has also announced that yet another retail location, The Levi’s Store, will be opening later this summer. As you might expect, this new store will offer the very best in denim for the whole family. Interestingly, this new location will also feature a Tailor Shop, which will allow guests to have their favorite items personalized and tailored from right inside the store.
4. Grab a refreshing beverage at the new Coca-Cola Store Orlando
One of the most anticipated stores at Disney Springs finally opened its doors today: the Coca-Cola Store Orlando. This new location, which is only the third Coca-Cola store in the world, is modeled after a 1920s Coca-Cola bottling plant, and celebrates the history of Coca-Cola with a number of unique design elements, including a 30-foot-wide blown-glass chandelier at the front of the store that has been crafted from repurposed Coca-Cola bottles.
Inside the shop, consumers will find a broad assortment of Coca-Cola branded merchandise for sale, including a line of sustainable fashion apparel and other unique handmade items crafted from recycled materials as part of the 5by20 collection which are created by women artisans from around the world.
However, perhaps the most exciting part of this new shop is its refreshing rooftop beverage bar, which will allow guests to savor an ice-cold Coca-Cola while taking in the sights of Disney Springs from above. In addition to classic Coca-Cola beverage, guests can also sample a variety of International Coca-Cola drinks, frozen beverages, and over 100 drink choices via Coca-Cola Freestyle at this location. A selection of specialty adult beverages will also be made available in the evenings.
And coming next month, guests will also be able to find a special new meet and greet with the iconic Coca-Cola polar bear inside this shop. In just a few weeks, guests will be able to get an autograph from, give a high five to, and even take a picture with this iconic character in front of a fun backdrop.
