On Monday, August 27, 2018 our Partners at Orlando Theme Park News took a stroll over to Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort to check on the construction and enhancements around the resort. Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is themed in Spanish Colonial Mexico where you can find your mythical city of gold in a Southwestern-themed haven—from brightly colored casitas to rustic ranchos. Each unique accommodation provides its own unforgettable escape… and a welcoming home away from home.
The Coronado Springs Resort Convention Center is the largest convention center on Walt Disney World property featuring 220,000-square-foot oif meeting space. The Convention Center includes the 60,214-square-foot Coronado Ballroom which is the largest ballroom in the southeastern United States, the 21,160-square-foot Fiesta Ballroom, as well as the 86,000-square-foot Veracruz Exhibition Hall with 1,500-square-foot of pre-function space in addition to 45 breakout rooms. It has been designated as being the premier single-level hotel convention facility on the east-coast and is one of the largest single-level hotel convention centers in the Southeast. This expansion at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort will include will add 500 rooms, featuring suites and concierge level services. This new tower will overlook Lago Dorado lake, the centerpiece of the refurbished resort offering rooftop dining and panoramic view of nighttime fireworks from the nearby Walt Disney World Resort Parks. being their in person, Orlando Theme Park News biggest concern was about the new tower’s massive size and the fact that it will dwarf the other buildings.
The rest of the resort will also refurbish its current resort rooms and transform its landscape with floating gardens and an island oasis that connects the resort through a series of bridges.
