Disney Remorse: 8 Things You’ll Regret Not Doing At Walt Disney World

By Caitlin Corsello

There are certain experiences on every Walt Disney World vacation that simply must be done in order for the vacation to feel complete. For some guests the experience is taking a photo in a particular location, for others it might be returning to a favorite dining location. Others still might not feel that their vacation is complete without visiting their favorite attraction multiple times or watching their favorite nighttime fireworks show. No matter what a guest considers to be a must have experience on vacation, there are several things that will be sure to leave a guest with regrets if they skip them. Here are eight things that guests will regret not doing in Walt Disney World that will leave them with Disney remorse.

8. Conquer The Mountains –

Some of the most thrilling and entertaining attractions in Walt Disney World are the five mountains scattered throughout the parks. Each mountain offers guests the chance to throw their hands up and go on an adventure that the whole family will love. In the Magic Kingdom, guests can visit Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Space Mountain, and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and in Disney’s Animal Kingdom guests can experience Expedition Everest. These five attractions are must dos on a Disney vacation and guests will definitely regret skipping them.

7. `Meeting Mickey –

Really, what Walt Disney World vacation is complete without meeting Mickey? There are plenty of places to interact with Mickey throughout the parks, but there is one in particular which offers guests amazing one on one interactions. In Town Square Theater on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom, Mickey is waiting to meet guests decked out in his magician’s costume. Mickey performs tricks, offers up hugs, signs autographs, and poses for pictures, making for a magical few moments. Guests who skip out on meeting Mickey will regret it.

6. Spaceship Earth –

Some guests might blow right past Spaceship Earth when arriving at Epcot to head towards Test Track Presented by Chevrolet or Soarin’ but they will totally regret doing so! Spaceship Earth is a classic attraction that takes guests on a journey from the beginning of time to see how communication has evolved and made us who we are today. With classic scenes and smells (Rome burning!), skipping this attraction is sure to leave a guest with Disney remorse.

5. Wishes Nighttime Spectacular –

One of the most magical experiences offered in the Magic Kingdom is the nightly fireworks show high over Cinderella Castle. Wishes combines fireworks, classic Disney songs, a narration by Jiminy Cricket, and projections on Cinderella Castle to make a beautiful show that simply can’t be missed on a Disney vacation. Guests who skip Wishes end up missing one of the best nighttime shoes at Walt Disney World and are sure to regret doing so.

4. Illuminations: Reflections of Earth –

This nightly show occurs on World Showcase Lagoon in Epcot and symbolically gathers guests around the fire to tell a tale of global significance. No guest should spend a night in Epcot and not watch this amazing combination of music, fireworks, dancing water, lasers, and pyrotechnics. Skipping this show make a day in Epcot incomplete and will surely leave guests with Disney remorse.

3. Haunted Mansion –

This classic Disney attraction takes guests into Gracey Manor where they find themselves face to face with nine hundred and ninety nine happy haunts. Featuring iconic scenes like the dancing ghosts in the ballroom, the classic song “Grim Grinning Ghosts,” and special effects that will leave guests guessing, no visit to Walt Disney World is complete without at least one visit to the Haunted Mansion in the Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Square.

2. Enjoying Dining –

Walt Disney World is home to endless dining options including decadent snacks, quick service meals, and signature dining full service meals. With so many options to choose from, there is a snack or meal to please even the pickiest of eaters. Guests who don’t take advantage of the wonderful dining options that a Disney vacation has to offer will surely regret not doing so.

1. Spending Time At The Pool –

A Walt Disney World vacation is tons of fun but it can also be exhausting. With endless walking in the parks and the high temperatures, guests can find themselves burning out early on in the trip if they don’t take some time to relax and recoup each day. A great way to make sure that energy levels stay up and guests stay relaxed is by spending some time each day by the pool. Each Disney Resort offers up some amazing pools to enjoy, and guests who don’t take advantage of them will definitely be exhausted and feeling some Disney remorse.
