Disney Springs’ Portobello restaurant starts multimillion-dollar revamp
Yet another new restaurant is in the works at Disney Springs, this time in place of Portobello Country Italian Trattoria.
Chicago-based Levy Restaurants announced it closed Portobello this week and has started work on a multimillion-dollar renovation of the space into a new, Italian restaurant concept.
The new restaurant, for which a name hasn’t yet been revealed, will be run by James Beard Award-winning chef and Top Chef Master Tony Mantuano. The new restaurant’s menu will feature dishes inspired by Mantuano’s “adventures across the many regions of Italy.”
The new concept is expected to re-open in early fall 2017.
“We’ve been grateful to serve our loyal guests at Portobello for the last seven years,” said Andy Lansing, president and CEO of Levy Restaurants. “We look forward to welcoming our guests back to the location early this fall when we unveil a new concept at Disney Springs.”
Meanwhile, Levy Restaurants earlier this year unveiled Paddlefish in Disney Springs, a revamp of its former Fulton’s Crab House.
These refurbished, re-openings are some long-awaited pieces of the Disney Springs puzzle that are attracting even more attention and guests to the already popular retail and restaurant hub while adding temporary and full-time jobs to the local economy.
Levy Restaurants also runs Wolfgang Puck Grande Cafe in Disney Springs.
