Portable Charging Batteries Now Available at Disney Parks

Walt Disney World Resort Guests will now be able to find new FuelRoad kiosks at select Walt Disney World Resort theme parks, around Disney Springs, and the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. At these locations, Guests will be able to find portable charging batteries that come with a set of USB cables able to charge a Guest’s mobile phone, tablet, or other device. Guests may charge depleted batteries or swap the battery at any Walt Disney World FuelRod kiosk.
Each portable charging battery set costs $30 and comes with the following items:
  • One (1) portable charging battery
  • One (1) 6” USB Type-A to micro-USB cable (for most Android devices)
  • One (1) Apple 30-pin to USB cable (for iPod, iPhone Gen 1-4)
  • One (1) Apple Lightning to USB cable (for Apple Gen 5+)

Themed FuelRod kiosks will be introduced at 10 Walt Disney World locations:

To purchase a new, portable charging battery, the Guest must approach the FuelRod kiosk and follow the kiosk on-screen prompts to pay for the portable charging battery using a credit card. Once the purchase is complete, the FuelRod kiosk will dispense a fully charged battery and connection cables.

When a portable charging battery purchased at a FuelRod kiosk on Walt Disney World property is depleted, Guests can swap it for a fully charged battery at no additional cost at any FuelRod kiosk on Walt Disney World property. Guests should visit a FuelRod kiosk and follow the kiosk’s on-screen prompts to swap the battery. The Guest will keep the connection cables and deposit the empty battery

into the kiosk. A fully charged battery then will be dispensed.

NOTE: The swapping of portable charging batteries is not limited to a Guest’s length of stay and can be swapped at any participating FuelRod kiosk.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Will additiobal FuelRod kiosks be added to other Walt Disney World locations in the future?
Future evaluations will take place to determine the need of additional kiosks.
Can the portable charging battery charge all mobile devices?

The battery can charge any mobile device with a 6” USB Type-A to micro-USB adapter cable, Apple 30-pin to USB cable, or Apple Lightning to USB cable. Similarly, any USB charging cable can be plugged in to the battery. Devices with a USB cable (e.g. GoPro, PlayStation Portable, etc.) will also work.

How long does it take to charge the portable charging battery?
A battery can be recharged and ready to use within a few hours. Depending on the device type and age, devices may be fully charged within approximately six (6) hours. The LED light will change from red to green when the battery is fully charged.
How long does a fully-charged portable charging battery last?
Charge time will vary based on your mobile device’s battery size and age. On average, each fully charged portable charging battery may add up to approximately eight (8) hours of talk time to your mobile device, or approximately four (4) hours run time to your tablet.

Can I swap my portable charging battery indefinitely?
Yes. The swapping of batteries is not limited to a Guest’s length of stay and can be swapped at any participating FuelRod kiosk.
What should I do if I am having trouble purchasing a portable charging battery?
Guest should call 1- 844-FUELROD (1-844-383-5763) to have the issue resolved.
